(I don't check this email often so be patient please)
I go by Bloog. I wanted to be involved in the revitalization of the concept of the personal website. That's why I'm here. I like making music and 3D artwork. My favorite genres of music are vaporwave, electronic, psychedelic rock, trance, and some more I can't think of. My favorite video game franchise is probably Metroid. I like reading books sometimes, typically realistic non-fiction type books.
That Myers-Briggs test thingy said I'm more like an ENTP, and I guess that makes sense. Yes, not a real grounded-in-research test, but still insightful somewhat, right?
Virgo, but I don't do horoscopes. I'm letting you know so you can prejudice me for fun.
I'm an advocate for worker's rights, progressive activism (the REAL kind), animal rights, abortion rights, ranked choice voting (or really any better voting method), LGBT+ rights, freedom of information, right to privacy, abolition of copyright, and complete legalization of marijuana and psilocybin. You could say at this point that I'm an advocate for rights in general, because lord knows there are people out there that aren't!
I'm a Socialist. Tired of explaining it, so I won't. Eat the rich. Educate yourself, liberate yourself.
I consider myself to be bisexual, but I am also attracted to certain animals. I don't care to explain this either.
So yeah, typical weird person online. I hope you find the stuff I write about interesting! And as always, feel free to leave if you don't like who I am. I know certain opinions I hold are not common or are offputting to people, but I know more about myself than other people, and I'm comfortable with myself, and I know personally that I am not doing anything wrong.
This site is made specifically for desktop browsers, and I mainly view it in Firefox. It might not look entirely correct on mobile and other browsers (for reasons I am and am not tracking), so please bare with me if something does not look right. I've been constantly updating this site to maintain consistency and functionality for users and myself, so that I may focus on the content (the blog posts) primarily. The rest is eye candy. But, candy must always be sweet, right? Anyway, I work on this website a lot, so things might look drastically different from one day to the next. I'm constantly improving, and this is my sort of gray box to test my website dev skills on.
I've tinkered around with HTML since 2017, when I was in a computer class and wanted to figure out how to make something appear on a web browser like all the websites I visited when I wasn't supposed to. I thought it was as simple as code something and maybe someone could find it. Nope! I have to pay for a website to host it on, shocking! Regardless, I coded a very simple looking site called "SearchQuiv," and it was an extremely rudimentary HTML page with a logo, an input box, a button that said "search," and a gray background. I had fun making it, and I doubt I even have the file anymore. CSS, on the other hand, is something I didn't get knee-deep in until I joined Neocities, where I'm quickly learning through internet tutorials and tinkering around, hence why the style changes faster than I upload blog posts. I'm impressed by what I can do with it and I believe it's what I really enjoy in the site creation process. Personal websites really are a big old art project, and that's probably why they will always be neater than your average social media website.
Actually, that's a good point there. The social media sites are a service that "get everything ready for you," whereas with a personal website, making the site to then host content on is an entirely different opportunity for artistic endeavors. For many, that's the appeal of a personal website, and for me, it's one major factor of keeping a website like this online.
